Bluffing is an important part of the game, and it can be effective in minimizing losses with poor hands and increasing winnings with strong ones. Players can use a variety of strategies to help them make the best decision about how much to bet and when to do so.

Once the betting phase is over, the players reveal their hands and the person with the best hand wins the pot. Some variants of the game allow for players to reveal their hands at any point, but they cannot win the pot if they choose not to do so.

Historically, it was more common to play stud and draw poker in brick-and-mortar casinos and riverboats, but this trend has reversed, with Texas Hold’em becoming the most popular game.
